A Healthy Heart is the Key to your Wellbeing

Today cardiovascular diseases has emerged as one of the most challenging threats to mankind. A recent statistics indicates that Heart disease and stroke is the leading cause of death globally, claiming over 17.5 million lives each year.

World Heart Day is a global campaign during which individuals, families, communities and governments around the world participate in activities to take charge of their heart health and that of others.

Created by the World Heart Federation, World Heart Day is celebrated on 29th September every year across the globe to create a universal awareness about cardiovascular diseases (CVD) including heart ailments and stroke which highlights the actions that individuals can take to prevent and control CVD. It aims to drive action to educate people that by controlling risk factors such as tobacco use, unhealthy diet and physical inactivity, at least 80% of premature deaths from heart disease and stroke could be avoided. By making just a few small changes to our daily lives will not only improve our heart health but also improve our quality of life as well as our overall well-being.

In a drive to create awareness among the citizens of Muscat, Apollo Hospitals in collaboration with Unique Pharmaceuticals Laboratories (Al Hashar Pharmacy LLC) organized an event to mark World Heart Day. The program consisted of an awareness dissemination by Dr. T. Partiban, Senior Cardiologist, Apollo Hospital Muscat and other senior officials of Apollo Hospitals including Medical Director, Dr. Dilip Singhvi who shared valuable information pertaining to a healthy living which proved to be very informative for the audience.

However, such forums like the World Heart Day are essential to create awareness amongst the people in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle as A Healthy Heart is the Key to your Wellbeing” stressed Mr. Shyam Sailesh, Director of Apollo Hospital Muscat.
